Keller Development Inc. is a leading Developer and General Contractor of affordable multi-family housing in Indiana
The Company was founded in 1957 by Edward E. Keller, Sr. as a sole proprietorship named Gene Keller & Sons. The company
initially operated
as a concrete contractor and later expanded its services to include excavation and site preparation.
The proprietorship was incorporated in the State of Indiana on August 1, 1977 and became Gene Keller & Sons, Inc.
The Company was reorganized effective January 1, 2000 and renamed Keller Development, Inc.
During the mid-1980’s, Congress created Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code to promote the development of quality affordable housing.
The Company postured itself as one of the first players in this industry. Today, Keller Development, Inc. is recognized
as a major player in the multi-family affordable housing industry. The Company has a reputation within the
industry for "quality construction"; "on-time" and "within budget".
Since 1984, as a general contractor, the Company has built over 1300 units of multi-family housing for
other developers throughout Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio. The Company's owners through separately formed limited
partnerships, have built and own 19 multi-family developments totaling 750 units. These developments are a blend of
conventional apartments and duplexes.
Edward E. Keller, Jr. (Gene) and Larry D. Keller are the owners of this second generation business. Their children are "key employees"of the Company which will provide for future transition to a third generation company.
